Care taken :
Took care from the sapling stage by:
*Choosing container with good drainage holes as strawberry do not grow well in soggy soil
*Potting mix -good red soil with cocopeat and vermicompost mixed equally.(added 1tsp of Epsom salt so the plant can withstand the transplant shock).
*mulching with dry straw (we get in Goshala which is fed for cows) making sure that leaves, flowers and fruits will not get in contact with soil to avoid fungal attacks.
*Removing dry and infested leaves timely
*Adding water only after checking the moisture in soil (twice a week in winter as the dew drop on the leaves moist the mulching straw and thereby keeping the soil moist)
*Adding vermicompost after every harvest t.(to give the plant enough energy to produce more flowers)
