I am Dr V. Indira , retired Principal of Railway junior College , Tarnaka . I retired in 2019 & went to US for few months . Though I was always interested in Gardening, while working , I did not have time & energy for pursuing this wonderful hobby . After coming back in the peak of Covid , I was restless being under house arrest and started exploring , how to improve me garden . Then started the project of buying pots , manure , cocopeat , Vermicompost etc etc . I joined Hyderabad Gardeners Group on Facebook and was following the updates regularly . Initially I bought many pots but after seeing the Hyd Gardeners posts , I got lot of ideas of DIY . I procured 15 , 20 Litres Paint buckets . OMG it took me two full days to clean the dried & left over paints Determined I prodded on & finally cleaned all of them . I first painted base with Terracotta brown Asian paints . I took help from two friends who were good in painting and along with them painted Dots Rangoli & free
Hand painting on them. I procured around 20 , 5 Litre Water Bottles , cut them horizontally & vertically and painted base with brown Terrakota , Asian paints colour & painted Swastik design on all four sides . I planted money plants and placed them on compound wall & the lids , I tied two with plastic Strings and used as hanging pots . Today I feel so happy doing these tasks myself & I more happy that I could motivate my husband also to help me while mixing Soil & filling up in pots & watering too . When we receive appreciation from visitors , we feel doubly motivated . Everyday I spend atleast two hours . Hoping to develop veggies in our Terrace slowly .
