Gardening – Summer Tips

Hello Plant lovers …
Let us know some summer Plant care tips …for surpassing this Summer heat.

1.Ensure that moisture is present over the day in pots.
Remember , it doesn’t mean you need to over water.

2.Come out of confusion. Shade net is not necessary for all the locations. Recommended for temperature raise more than 38-40°C (Ex: Vijayawada , Ananthapur).

3.Use thick old cotton clothes /fallen dry leaves from your own garden as mulching to retain moisture in soil.

4. If summer temperatures are rising, You might need to water the plants twice a day.All the plants in your garden may not expect water twice a day.

5. Used Saline bottles can be used for slow watering (like a drip).

6. Recommend to give any foliage spray/liquid fertilizers only in the evening cool hours and not before 4pm.

7. Used cool drink bottles can be used for water dropping. Make small hole and use polyester cloth for water droplets.

8.Keep the small / new plants in under the shade of big/fruit plants.

9.Replace /Rearrange the plants according to thier tolerance towards heat and sun .Eg : Flowering plants to Sunny places , Vegetable plants to Sunny /Partial shaded , Leafy vegetables to Partial shaded areas.

10.Don’t over fertilize the plants which burns the plants in summer like composts /Manures.

11.Don’t miss to start / practice Home composting .Summer is best period .You can make 1 batch in just one month.(In Winters it takes upto. 3 months to complete a batch)
