CTG Farm Visit – Chilkur Farm 6th March 2022
What an amazing day it is today, with the beauty of green festooning the farmhouse of very generous and excellent hosts, Mr. Vemulapalli Chetan Swaroop and Mrs. V. Leela at Nirvana Kuteeram, Near Chilkuri Balaji Temple. City of Terrace Gardens, under the able leadership of Mr. Srinivas Harakara, Sr. Advocate and Founder & Chief Admin of CTG took on a festival look with over 200 members attending the farm visit with full zest.
Starting at 10 am with CTG members gathering on the lawns for family introductions, Advocate Pavani flagged off the event with introductions of the speakers. This was followed by CTG gardening experts, Mr. Rupineni Kanth , Mrs. Vijaylakshmi, Mr. Apparao and Mrs. Vishnu Vandana sharing their expert opinions.
Mr. Rupineni gave his expert advice on the system of terrace gardening.
Mr. Apparao spoke about how to source and secure rare collection of tomato, brinjal and other rare and exotic varieties of seeds.
Mrs. Vijaylakshmi, Microbiologist shared valuable inputs on composing techniques. Mrs. Vishnu Vandana spoke about the importance of rain harvesting.
This was followed by a sumptuous lunch by the hosts, accompanied by soothing music and an ambient environment.
Distribution of saplings of different varieties of Brinjal, Tomato, Kakara (bittergourd) to all participating members has been organized by Mrs Saroja with able assistance from Kusuma, Srinu, Sukesini, sridevi palakurthi , shanthi mani, Vijaya , pavan & others. The above Team have volunteered to make the Event a Grand success. Return gifts were sponsored by Saroja, kusuma and Pavan.
Entire Farm Visit planning, execution, coordination with the Host & Expert and what not… whole program has been ably handled by Mrs Saroja, Admn of CTG groups.
The CTG members had a joyous time exchanging seeds and saplings with other gardening enthusiasts.
The day closed with a plant quiz, which kept the participants glued to their seats. Lord Chilkuri Balaji showered his benevolent blessings on the CTG members when they visited the Chilkuri Balaji temple.
